Mitch Albom's Tuesdays with Morrie (On Tour)
by Jeffrey Hatcher and Mitch Albom based on the book by Mitch Albom Produced with special arrangements with Dramatists Play Service Inc. Based on the autobiographical book by Mitch Albom, Tuesdays with Morrie explores the lessons of love, duty, relationships, and the meaning of life and death. Mitch, a former student of Professor Morrie Schwartz, was leading a successful career as a sports journalist when he learned that Morrie had contracted ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). Mitch then spends every Tuesday with Morrie in what became the last class to remind Mitch of the most important lessons in life. Directed by Terri Hoover and featuring Seth Simmers and Ron Smith, Tuesdays with Morrie will be performed at J. Frank Hillyard Middle School (in Broadway) on March 20 & 21 @ 7:00 p.m. and March 22 @ 3 p.m. The following weekend, it will be performed at The Sipe Center (in Bridgewater) on March 27 & 28 @ 7:30 p.m. and March 29 @ 3 p.m. Tuesdays with Morrie Fundraiser In March, 2025, former Broadway baseball coach Tim Turner was diagnosed with ALS. Members of the Broadway community began holding fundraisers to help Tim’s family. The parallels between these two true stories, that of Morrie Schwartz and of Tim Turner, are remarkable. To assist Tim with the care he needs, the Off Broadway Players will donate every dollar of every Hillyard admission ticket to Tim Turner and his family. Additional cash and check donations are also welcome. Checks should be made out to The Off Broadway Players. |
